Stockton, Calif. - Tiger junior Whitney Price (Las Vegas, Nev.) has earned the January Pacific Competitor of the Month award.

Price has helped the Tigers to eight wins, averaging 3.8 points and a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game.

According to head coach Lynne Roberts, "Whitney could care less about personal statistics, glory, or recognition - she only cares about the team. In terms of her work ethic, Whitney has never taken a single day off. She never has to be encouraged to work harder - she simply brings a competitive work ethic every single day. Night in and night out, Whitney receives the defensive assignment of guarding the opponent's best player and she thrives on it. Whitney has an infectious competitive fire and leadership quality to her. Simply said, the Whitney loves basketball, she loves to compete, and she absolutely loves Pacific."

The award is given each month to a Pacific individual to recognize unusual or remarkable competitive effort.
