Stockton, Calif. - The National Collegiate Athletic Association's Executive Committee announced the awarding of a 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Regional to Sacramento's ARCO Arena. University of the Pacific will serve as the host institution in cooperation with the Sacramento Sports Commission.

This will be the fifth time that Pacific and ARCO Arena have teamed to host an NCAA Tournament event. Sacramento was the host in for the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds of the men's tournament in 1994, 1998 and 2002 and will host again in 2007.

"We are very pleased to be selected as the host site for a 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Regional," said Pacific's Director of Athletics Lynn King. "We have a great relationship with ARCO Arena and the Sacramento Sports Commission and we are looking forward to hosting this tremendous national event."

Tickets to the 2010 women's regional will go on sale in 2009. The regional dates will be March 27 and 29 (Saturday and Monday), or March 28 and 30 (Sunday and Tuesday).
