Entering his third year with the Tigers, Coonan has worked primarily with the women's volleyball and baseball teams. He also is in charge of all insurance claims for the department, serves as the approved clinical instructor for the athletic training program and assists in the hiring and training of all graduate assistants as well as athletic training students. Coonan joined Pacific after completing his master's of science in education from the University of Kansas. As a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Jayhawks from 2003-05, Coonan worked with cross country, football, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving and track. Prior to attending Kansas, Coonan was the head athletic trainer at St. Thomas High School from 2002-03 and at Hargrave High School from 2000-02. During his undergraduate work at Iowa State from 1996-2000, Coonan was the head student athletic trainer for multiple sports while earning his bachelor of science degree in exercise and sport science/athletic training from Iowa State in 2000. |
