JUNIOR (2004)

The primary backstop for the Tigers last season, Brandon filled any role asked of him, serving as the Tigers' unlikely leadoff hitter down the stretch of the 2004 season. Gottier posted a .247 average in his first season with Pacific, including a .260 clip in Big West Conference play. Brandon was third on the team with three home runs last season and finished with 20 RBI. Gottier finished third on the team with 13 walks in 2004 and had a .317 on-base percentage. Brandon's greatest asset, however, was his defensive presence behind the plate as he threw out 29 of 63 opposing base runners (46%). Gottier had his best game in the leadoff spot in the Tigers' 12-10 loss to Hawai'i on May 25th as he was 2-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Brandon's solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning proved to be the game winner in Pacific's 10-9 win over UC Riverside on April 30th. Gottier was 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI in Pacific's 16-5 loss to #9 UC Irvine on April 24th. Brandon came through with a three-run double as Pacific fell 16-6 on April 17th. Gottier was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and his 10th and 11th RBI of the season as the Tigers fell to Sacramento State 16-9 on Mar. 25th. Brandon's best single game in 2004 came in Reno, Nev. as he recorded a career-high four hits and three RBI on Mar. 23rd. Gottier finished the game 4-for-6 with a run scored and his first triple of the season as Pacific fell 12-11 in 11 innings to Nevada. Brandon hit his first career home run as a Pacific Tiger against UCLA on Feb. 20th in Pacific's 6-1 loss to the Bruins.

JUNIOR COLLEGE

Gottier came to Pacific from Lower Columbia College in Longview, Wash. in 2003. In two seasons with the Red Devils, Brandon led Lower Columbia College to a 67-17 combined record. Gottier finished the 2003 season with a .280 average, including nine doubles and 18 RBI. He helped the Red Devils record 24 consecutive victories in NWAACC play.

HIGH SCHOOL

Brandon graduated from Sehome High School in Bellingham, Wash. in 2000, where he was named the defensive MVP in 2000. As a Mariner, Gottier hit .360 in his senior season, leading Sehome to a second place finish in the state playoffs. Following both his junior and senior seasons, Brandon was named to the All-Wesco Second Team.
