JUNIOR (2004) Graham topped an incredible season in 2004 by being named to the Academic All-America Team on June 1st. Alex finished 2004 with a stunning 2.66 ERA in 11 appearances, posting a 4-1 record. He allowed just 18 runs in 61.0 innings and tossed two complete games. Following the season, Graham was selected in the MLB amateur draft by the Baltimore Orioles in the 28th round. Alex's season was cut short due to arm injuries. Graham tossed six innings of six hit, three run ball (two earned) with one walk and three Ks as he got the no decision in Pacific's 13-5 loss to Cal State Fullerton on April 10th. Alex chalked up his fourth straight win of the season, allowing two runs in eight innings and set a new career-high with 10 Ks in Pacific's 12-7 win over Lafayette College on March 20th. Alex posted a complete game shutout over Utah on March 13th as the Tigers won, 3-0. Graham had another solid outing, getting a no-decision in Pacific's 3-2, 13 inning win over USF on March 6th. Graham rung up eight strikeouts in his 7.1 innings of work. Alex pitched one of the best games in Pacific's history, taking a perfect game into the seventh inning against UCLA on Feb 21st as he picked up the complete game shutout victory, his second win of the season. Graham allowed just two hits while striking out seven and not walking a batter in the Tigers' 7-0 win. For his strong effort, Graham earned Big West Co-Pitcher of the Week. Graham got his first win of the season against Portland on Feb. 13th, allowing four runs on seven hits in six innings to lead the Tigers to a 12-4 win. Graham earned the Tigers' first save of the year against BYU on Feb. 6th, pitching 1.1 innings with one strike out. SOPHOMORE (2003) Alex was the Tigers' best pitcher in conference play in 2003 as he posted a 2.05 ERA in 12 appearances, allowing just seven runs (five earned) in 22.2 innings pitched. Graham's longest outing of the season came on Saturday, May 17th as he allowed just an unearned run in 6.1 innings of relief as Pacific defeated Cal State Northridge 11-7 in the 16th inning. Graham finished the season with a 3.92 ERA in 22 appearances over 39 innings. In a 7-2 loss to #5 Long Beach State on May 3rd, Graham did not allow a run in 1.2 innings of relief. That outing came on the heels of two performances against UC Riverside (Apr. 26th and 27th) where he allowed just two hits in 2.2 innings. FRESHMAN (2002) Graham made one appearance pitching in one inning for the Tigers. In the game, he gave up just two hits and struck out two to help the Tigers secure one of their three shutouts of the season, an 11-0 win over Bethany on Apr. 23rd. FRESHMAN (2001) Alex redshirted his first season with the Tigers. HIGH SCHOOL Alex graduated from Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, Calif. in 2000. As a Bronco, Alex threw a no-hitter on March 20, 1999 as he faced the minimum 21 batters in the contest. Graham recorded 11 strikeouts in the performance. Following his junior and senior seasons, Graham was named to the All-California Athletic League First Team. Off the field, Graham continued to show his excellence by receiving a Scholar Athlete Booster Club Scholarship. PERSONAL Alexander Graham was born on December 24, 1981 and is the son of Donald and Julie Graham. In his fifth year at Pacific, Alex is majoring in engineering physics. |
