2008 (Freshman):
As a freshman, Brian came in 39 games for the Tigers and started 29 of those contests with 121 at bats. He was fifth on the roster in doubles with 11. Martin significantly contributed to his doubles tally on April 26 at Long Beach when he went three-for-four with two runs, one walk, two RBI and three doubles against the Dirtbags. He had three other multi-hit games against Houston on Feb. 24 (2), San Francisco on April 28 (2) and UC Riverside on May 3 (2). Brian hit .264 on the year.
High School:
Brian graduated from Livermore High School in 2007. Martin led the Cowboys last season with a .553 batting average, including 43 hits, 30 runs scored, 12 doubles, five home runs and 28 RBI. Brian finished the 2007 season with a .875 slugging percentage in 25 games. The MVP of the East Bay Athletic League, Martin led Livermore HS to the North Coast Section Playoffs during his senior season. Martin was even better in league play, posting an EBAL record .615 batting average. As a junior, Brian hit .324 with 24 hits, six doubles, two home runs and 18 RBI in 24 games.
Personal:
Brian Martin is the son of Steve and Bette Martin. He has one brother, Dan (22). In his second year at Pacific, Brian is a sports management major.
