2010 (Junior):
In his first season with the Tigers, Robbie tossed 38.2 innings out of the bullpen for Pacific. Richardson led the team with a 3.26 ERA and was best among relievers with 17 strikeouts. Alongside teammate Jake Hummel, Robbie finished second on the team with three saves in 2010. Richardson's first save of the year came in the Irish Baseball Classic game against Notre Dame on Mar. 14, in which he relinquished only one hit in the game's final inning to preserve Pacific's 8-4 victory. Only three games later, Robbie earned his second save of the season against San Jose State on Mar. 28, allowing only one walk in 2.0 innings pitched, to save Pacific's narrow 8-7 victory. In the final game of the series against San Jose State Richardson came in to close out the game in extra innings. Behind his 1.0 inning pitched in which he allowed only one run, the Tigers came from behind to outlast the Spartans 3-2 in 11 innings, giving Robbie his only win of the season in the first series sweep of 2010.
Previous School (Cosumnes River College):
Richardson spent his final season playing for Cosumnes River College after teammate Jamie Niley played for the team a year prior and transferred to Pacific. Upon conclusion of his junior college career, Richardson set the school's saves record (11) as well as the single-season appearance record (27). He capped off his career as the Big 8 Relief Pitcher of the Year, and competed in the league playoffs with the Hawks. Last year, the Hawks finished 29-17 overall, and Robbie led the pitching staff in appearances with 27. He closed out 2009 with a 2-1 record as a reliever and complied an impressive 2.47 ERA over the span of 54.2 innings pitched. As a hitter, Richardson went .286 at the plate in seven at-bats. For his performance, Richardson was named a First Team All-Big 8 Conference selection
High School:
A 2006 graduate of Tokay High School in Lodi, Calif., Robbie earned five letters as a two-sport athlete in basketball (one) and baseball (four). In his senior season, Robbie was named second team all-league after the Tokay Tigers closed out the year as the South Section runners up, as they had done previously in the 2005 season. In 2004, Richardson's freshman campaign, Tokay HS emerged as the Tri-City Athletic League champions.
Personal:
Robert Richardson III was born in Stockton, Calif., and is the son of Robert and Carmella Richardson. He has two siblings, Kadie (23) and Matt (13). In his free time, Robbie enjoys spending time with his friends and watching sports. Richardson is a business major in his second year at Pacific, with hopes of working for a large company or owning his own business in the future.
