Wes Yourth is in his third season as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Tigers. Yourth brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Tigers, including international coaching experience.

Yourth spent the 2007 season as an assistant coach and program instructor at Laney College in Oakland, Calif. The preceding three seasons, Wes served in a similar capacity at City College of San Francisco. Yourth's international experience came in both 2000 and 2005. Wes spent the summer of 2000 in Bern, Switzerland, developing the Bern Cardinals Baseball Club. The Cardinals went on to win their first Swiss National Championship and a berth into the Euro Cup Tournament. Yourth also served as an MLB International Envoy in Great Britain in 2005. Among his accomplishments, Yourth worked with the Great Britain Junior National Program.

During his playing days, Yourth spent the 1998 season at City College of San Francisco as well as the 1999 and 2000 seasons at Hillsdale College in Michigan. Yourth led his team in home runs and doubles in each of his three seasons and earned All-Coast North Second Team honors as a shortstop in 1998.

Wes and his wife Aleta Kotecki, gave birth to their daughter, Cora Jean, on Nov. 24, 2008. They currently reside in Stockton, Calif.
