Pacific downed by No. 2 Cal State Fullerton, 11-1

FULLERTON, Calif. The Pacific Tigers baseball team suffered an 11-1 loss to No. 2 Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, Apr. 16. The loss dropped the Tigers to 17-20 on the season and 3-5 in Big West Conference play, while the Titans moved to 25-9 overall and 7-1 in conference. The Tigers fell behind early as Cal State Fullerton scored one run in the bottom of the first and two in the second to take a 3-0 edge. In the top of the third, Pacific junior Matt Berezay (Manteca, Calif.) drove a 2-0 pitch over the right field wall to pull the Tigers within two at 3-1. The Titans, however, added four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to take control of the game at 11-1. Pacific freshman Jason Haar (San Diego, Calif.) suffered the loss (1-4) as he allowed seven runs on nine hits and three walks in 4.2 innings. The Titans Wes Roemer (3-1) got the win as he allowed one run on five hits over eight innings. The Tigers and Titans will finish their three-game series on Sunday, Apr. 17 in Goodwin Field at 1 p.m.
