
Tigers Drop Pitcher's Duel to Oregon State in Season Finale, 2-0

Corvallis, Ore. - The Pacific baseball team concluded the 2008 season with a 2-0 loss at Oregon State on Sunday, May 25. The Tigers finish the year 14-41, while the Beavers improve to 28-24. After failing to get a runner home from third and less than two outs in three straight innings, Oregon State was able to score in that situation on a single by Ryan Ortiz to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jordan Lennerton led off the seventh inning for Oregon State with a home run to left field to make the score 2-0. Tiger starting pitcher Tyler Waldron (Pilot Hill, Calif.) gave up both Oregon State runs, allowing five hits and striking out five. He falls to 3-7 on the year. Oregon State starter Greg Peavey scattered six hits in 5 1-3 innings of work, improving to 3-3 on the season. Kevin Rhoderick pitched the final two innings to earn his 12th save of the year. Sophomore Mike Walker (Marysville, Calif.) was 2-for-4 for the Tigers, with a pair of singles. The Tigers stranded 11 runners on base.
