
Justin Baum and Joe Oliveira Earn All-Big West First Team Honors
May 29, 2007 Anaheim, Calif. - Junior Justin Baum (La Mesa, Calif.) and sophomore Joe Oliveira (San Diego, Calif.) were each named to the 2007 Easton Big West All-Conference First Team. Justin earned his second All-Big West First Team selection this season, following his 2005 All-Big West First Team and Freshman of the Year selections. Baum played in all 59 games for the Tigers during 2007 season, including 58 starts. He finished the season as the Tigers' leader with a .367 batting average, eight home runs, 16 doubles, 43 RBI, .553 slugging percentage, 44 walks and a .471 on-base percentage. Justin is also second on the Tigers in hits (83) and runs scored (44). Oliveira nabbed his first post-season honor following his best offensive season as a Tiger. Joe finished the 2007 year with a team leading 84 hits, 45 runs scored, five stolen bases and four triples. Oliveira followed Baum in batting average at .327, posted 12 doubles, three home runs, 113 total bases, a .440 slugging percentage and a .388 on-base percentage. Oliveira was the lone Tiger to start all 59 games for the Tigers this, starting in four different defensive positions (catcher and all three outfield positions).
