Junior College: Michael Kirby comes to Pacific after two seasons with Delta College just down the road from Pacific in Stockton, Calif. ... As a Mustang, Kirby led his team to back-to-back conference championships (Bay Valley and most recently a Big 7 title) ... As a freshman in 2005-06, Kirby earned honorable mention all-state honors, and All-Big 7 Conference First Team honors ... In 2006-07, Michael averaged 8.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, playing in just 11 games ... He shot 66.0% from the field and 76.5% from the free throw line ... In addition, Michael and the Mustangs advanced to the Elite 8 in the California State Playoffs as a freshman followed by a Sweet 16 appearance last season.

Coach Thomason on Kirby: "Michael comes to Pacific after having a really great career at Delta College. He's got the right temperament for a point guard and people really like playing with him. He is a good shooter and a solid passer. His only limitation is his physical size. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, I know he's going to have a big impact not only on the court but with his teammates. We're very excited about coaching him."
