Johnson Earns First Team All-Big West Honors To Lead Four Tigers On All-Big West Teams

Irvine, Calif. - Pacific junior Steffan Johnson (Kent, Wash.) led four Tigers on all-league teams by earning All-Big West Conference First Team honors when the league's yearly awards were announced on Monday, March 10. Junior Anthony Brown (Sacramento, Calif.), freshman Terrell Smith (Federal Way, Wash.) and junior Chad Troyer (Seattle, Wash.) also earned 2007-08 All-Big West Conference honors.

Brown and Troyer earned All-Big West Conference Honorable Mention honors. Smith was named to the Big West Conference All-Freshman team.

Johnson leads the Tigers in scoring (14.8 points per game) and assists (4.93 assists per game) and ranks seventh in the league in scoring and second in assists in the Big West. He is among the top 10 in seven Big West statistical categories. His 148 assists and 43 steals this season both rank among the top 10 single season totals in school history. It is Steffan's second Big West postseason award, after earning All-Freshman team honors in 2005-06. Johnson and Donovan Morris of Long Beach State are the only two juniors on the All-Big West First Team.

Brown is third on the Tigers in scoring (10.7 points per game) and leads the team in rebounds (7.1 rebounds per game). He is third in the Big West in rebounds per game, and is second in defensive rebounds per game (5.5). He has moved to 16th on Pacific's career rebounding list with 580. It is the third Big West postseason award for Brown after earning All Big West Second Team honors last year and All-Freshman team honors two years ago.

Troyer is averaging 12.9 points per game overall, but 14.1 points in Big West games. He is second in the Big West in three-point field goal percentage (.447) and third in the league in three-point field goals made (2.8 per game) in conference games. He leads the Tigers with 84 three-pointers, which is the fifth best single season total in school history.

Smith is averaging 2.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game in his first year for the Tigers. He scored a career-high seven points in his last game against UC Riverside on March 5.
