Spring 2006 Petersson finished his junior year with a 22nd place finish at the Big West Championship and was named to the Big West All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. Thomas picked up where he left off in the Tigers' first tournament of the spring season, leading Pacific to a fifth place finish at the Rice Intercollegiate on his way to a ninth place finish. Petersson shot a 76-75-72=223 enroute to his third Top 10 showing in six tournaments. He also took top honors for Pacific at the Anteater Invitational, finishing 15th and then carded a 234 at the Braveheart Classic. Fall 2005 Petersson showed great improvement during the fall semester of his junior year, posting two Top 10 finishes at the Lexus Classic (T7) and the Bill Cullum Intercollegiate (8). He fired a career-low round of 68 in the Cullum and led the Tigers with a 74.4 stroke average. Thomas shot in the 70's in 13 of his 15 rounds as well. 2004-05 Thomas played in ten of 12 tournaments for the Tigers during his second season at Pacific. His best finish came at the Pacific Invitational, posting a 220, tying for 8th place. He also completed five rounds at par or better and played to the top 20 twice during his sophomore season. 2003-04 In Thomas' first season at Pacific, he competed in seven tournaments. He shot one of the seven rounds under 70 for Pacific, a 68 in the first round of the Western Intercollegiate. His best finish came at the Big West Championships at which he finished tied for 33rd. Junior Golf Thomas played on the Swedish Junior Tour from 2000-03. He had four top 20 finishes. In 2003, while playing on the Swedish Mini-tour, Petersson had three top 20 finishes. At the 2002 Swedish Junior Match Play Championships Thomas finished 17th. Personal Thomas Erik Johan Petersson is the son of Hakan Petersson and Katarina von Rennenkampft and has two younger siblings, Anders (14) and Stefan (16). Thomas is currently majoring in business.
