Stockton, California - Senior Thomas Petersson was named to the Big West All-Conference First Team for his play during the 2006-07 season. Petersson led the Tigers throughout the season, leading the team with a 73.0 stroke average over 12 tournaments.

Petersson, an honorable mention selection last season posted rounds of 74-69-70=213 at the Big West Championships this past week, leading the Tigers to a third place finish. He finishes his final year at Pacific with 14 rounds under par this season and six rounds in the 60's.

"I'm extremely proud to be selected to the First Team," said Petersson. "It's great to see that the work I've put in has paid off for myself and the team. It's a great indication that I have been and continue to do the right things."

Thomas has been a mainstay at the number one position for the Tigers over the past two seasons. In his four years as a Tigers Thomas accumulated a stroke average of 74.6 over 121 rounds.

"I had four great years at Pacific and it has been wonderful to have the opportunity to play highly competitive college golf," said Petersson. "I have had invaluable experiences and I look forward to take on new challenges both on the golf course and in the business world."

Petersson placed in the top 10 in five tournaments this season, his lowest finish being a third place showing at the Rice Intercollegiate in February. He posted a career-low 66 at the UH-Hilo Intercollegiate in the Tigers' first tournament of the spring season.

"Thomas has been a wonderful player and leader for us for the past four years," said head coach Brandon Goethals. "He exemplified this program and the things we try to do. I'm proud of him and all he has accomplished."
