Fletcher Promoted To Pacific Golf Assistant Coach
May 30, 2007 Stockton, Calif. - Athletic Director Lynn King and Pacific Golf Head Coach Brandon Goethals have announced today, May 30, the promotion of Jeremy Fletcher to a full assistant coach for the upcoming 2007-08 golf season. Fletcher is entering his second season with the Pacific golf program after spending the 2006-07 season as a part-time assistant to Goethals. Fletcher will assist Goethals in the continuation of Pacific golf's accent towards national prominence. Last season, Pacific golf began to build the bases for success with a campaign that witnessed the Tigers finish third at the Big West championships back on April 24. In addition, the Tigers sent senior Thomas Petersson (Stockholm, Sweden) to the NCAA Championships from May 17-19. In addition to their accomplishments on the links, Goethals and Fletcher have created, in just one season, a nationally acclaimed tournament in the Food4Less Pacific Invitational that welcomed 12 teams to Brookside Country Club last season. The four day annual tournament will take place next season on November 4-7, 2007. The first round of tournament play will begin at 8:00 Monday morning and conclude with a final 18-holes on Wednesday, the 7th. A native of Toledo, Iowa, Fletcher graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in 2005 with a bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
"I'm honored to have Jeremy join the Pacific Golf full-time," said Goethals. "His energy and passion will help take this program to a new level. I want to personally thank the administration here at Pacific for having the vision and trust to allow us to grow. I look forward to Jeremy being a big part of this program as we move forward."
