Tigers Sign Perrott, Bauch and Garcia for 2008 Season
Dec. 5, 2007
Stockton, California - The Pacific Golf announced the signing of three top recruits for the upcoming 2008-09 season. Robert Perrott, Ben Bauch and Danny Garcia all signed National Letters of Intent to play for head coach Brandon Goethals and the Pacific Tigers. Perrott, currently a senior at Salpointe Catholic High School, is from Rio Rico, Arizona. A former high school teammate of current Pacific freshman Alex Johnson, the two teamed up to lead Salpointe to a runner-up finish at the 2006 Arizona Boys State Championship. Perrott shot a second round 65 to advance to the State Championship this season and posted a 72-75 to take seventh place. "Robert will bring a wealth of talent to an already talented team. He has the ability to make a lot of birdies and that's what you need to do at the highest level of Division I golf," said Goethals. Bauch, currently a senior at El Toro High School, is from Trabuco Canyon, California. Playing an extensive schedule this past summer Ben took 5th place at the GolfWeek Junior Invitational with rounds of 69-68. He had a string of four top five finishes in five tournaments between August and October and finished third in back-to-back SCPGA Junior Events during that time. Bauch also placed third in the USGA Junior Amateur Qualifier in July. "The first time I saw Ben play I knew right away that he would be one of those solid teammates you could count on for four years," said coach Goethals. "I look forward to seeing him grow as a player while here at Pacific." Goethals' third signee of the 2007 season is local standout Danny Garcia. A native of Stockton, Garcia played his high school golf at St. Mary's alongside current Pacific sophomore Patrick Kucich. Danny had four Top 10 finishes this past summer, including a third place showing at the Westfield PGA Junior Championship and a runner-up finish at the Del Rio Junior Memorial in July.
"Danny is just a fine young man with a great work ethic and a short game that rivals anyone," said Goethals. "It will be fun to watch him compete at the next level." |
