2007-08 (Junior):

Chris served as a valuable utility swimmer his junior year, competing in various events such as the butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and numerous relay teams. Not only did he establish quite a few season bests, but he also posted a personal best in both the 200 Fly (1:55.39) and the 100 Back (51.77) before the Big West Championships. In the final meet to determine the Big West Conference champs, Chapman set season best times for the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Fly, 200 Free Relay, 50 Free and 400 Medley Relay. As a student athlete, he also garnered Academic All-Big West honors for the winter.

2006-07 (Sophomore):

Chris swam his best time in the 100 Back at the Big West Championships on Feb. 23, with a time of 51.25 seconds. Swimming two strokes for the Tigers last season, Chapman added depth to the team in the butterfly and backstroke events.

2005-06 (Freshman):

As a freshman Chapman's ability to swim competitively in a variety of different events made him a valuable asset. Chris posted his best times in the 100 Fly (52.08), and the 200 Back (1:58.80) at the Husky Meet, his best time in the 200 Fly (1:56.28) in a dual meet against Cal Poly, and his fastest time in the 100 Back (52.42) at he Big West Championships. He also competed in the 200 IM throughout the season.

High School:

Chris attended Inglemoor High School in Kenmore, Wash., where he lettered in swimming all four years. Chris earned All-American honors in the 100 fly in 2005, to compliment four relay All-American titles, and a 2005 USA Swimming Academic All-American award. He finished third in the state of Washington in the 100 back, while recording a fourth place finish in the 100 fly.

Personal:

Chris Chapman was born in Bryn Mawr, Penn., and is the son of Dick and Linda Chapman. His mom Linda was a four time All-American (75-78) at Long Beach State in the breast stroke. He has two siblings, Katie (16) and Andy (13). Chris is a mechanical engineering major in his fourth year at Pacific.
