2007-08 (Junior): Last season Kasten gave Pacific some depth in two strokes, swimming in butterfly and freestyle events. He made his debut with the Tigers during the Feb. 2 meet against UC Santa Barbara, competing in the 50 Free (22.36), 100 Free (49.23) and the 100 Fly (53.94). His time in the 100 Fly put him second among Pacific swimmers in the Big West Championships 2005-07 (Chabot College): Mike set a school record in the 100 Fly in 2007, and was a two-time nominee to the Junior College All-American team. High School: Mike graduated from Granada High School in Livermore, Calif., where he was a four-year letter winner in swimming. Personal: A native of Chengdu, China, Michael Kasten (born Ke Song) is the son of William and Anli Mu Kasten and has two siblings, a brother Andrei and a sister Lisa. In his second year at Pacific Mike is studying international business. |
