2007-08 (Junior):
Maris' junior year with the Tigers saw him improve again on his personal best 200 Free time, after recording a 1:29.41 race at the Pacific Invitational on Nov. 9. He offered a variety of freestyle events to his team and established a season high mark during the Big West Championships on Feb. 21 in the 500 Free. Max finished in the top 10 with a time of 4:34.93.
2006-07 (Sophomore):
In his second season with the Tigers, Maris swam his best times in the 100 Free and the 200 Free at the Texas A&M Invitation, where he touched with a time of 48.16 in the 100 Free and finished the 200 Free with a time of 1:42.77. Maris also shined at the Big West Championships where he finished ninth in the 500 free with a time of 4:32.73, fourteenth in the 1000 Free with a time of 9:31.15, and sixth in the 1650 Free with a time of 15:45.83. His mark of 9:31.15 in the 1000 Free was the second fastest time for the Tigers on the season.
2005-06 (Freshman):
In his first year with the Tigers, Maris recorded season best times in the 200 Free (1:44.00), 500 Free (4:36.95), 1000 Free (9:37.57), and the 1650 Free (16:08.44) at the Husky Meet.
High School:
Maxwell attended Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Col., where we earned a varsity letter in swimming all four years. Maxwell is a six time All-American, earning three honors each in the 200 and 500 free. Academically he was an eight-semester honor roll student and a member of the chess club.
Personal:
Maxwell Maris was born in Tucson, Ariz., and is the son of Victor and Karla Maris. He has one brother, Jackson Maris. In his free time, Maxwell enjoys reading and going to the movies. Max is a biology major in his third year at Pacific, with career plans to become a dentist.
