2007-08 (Freshman):
Competing in his first year for Pacific, McHugh gave the Tigers a variety of options, swimming numerous relay, medley, butterfly and freestyle events. He established two season best times at the Big West Championships in February, most notably when he came in fifth place during the 400 IM after a time of 4:03.83. Jim also set two more bests at the Big West Championships in the 200 Fly (1:53.39) and the 200 IM (1:56.62).
High School:
Jim graduated from Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, Ariz., where he was a four year letter winner in swimming. Jim was a four time MVP of his team, as well as being named to the all-city team. During his senior year, McHugh was a high school champion in the 100 Fly and 500 Free.
Personal:
James McHugh is the son of Chuck and Jill McHugh, and he has one sister, Kelsey (13). Jim is a business major in his second year at Pacific.
