At Pacific

Will came on strong his junior year in 2003-04. He broke his own school record in the 100 Fly, swimming to a first place finish of 48.58 at the Big West Conference Championships. McLaughlin also helped the 200 Medley Relay team record a school best time of 1:30.89 at the Big West Conference Championships. Will is also a member of the men's water polo team along with his brother Clint. In the 2002-03 season, McLaughlin scored a first in the 100 Fly (49.00) as well as a sixth in the 100 Free (46.41), to help the Tigers repeat as champs in the Big West. Will made an immediate impact with the Tigers. He set the Pacific record in the 100 Fly with a time of 48.66 at the Big West Conference Championships in 2002. He also set a personal best in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:57.35.

High School

Will attended Valhalla High School in El Cajon, Calif., graduating in 2001 with a combined seven letters, four in swimming and three in water polo. Will earned All-America status and was named to the All-Academic team. McLaughlin captured the 100 Fly event as a member of the Norseman swim team at the CIF Championships during his senior year.

Personal

William McLaughlin was born on Nov. 19, 1982, in San Diego, Calif., and is the son of Andy and Laura McLaughlin. Will is a business major in his fourth year at Pacific.
