2007-08 (Freshman): Murphy spent his first year with Pacific and swam a number of events including the breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and medley. Murphy's best times last season in four of his events occurred during the Big West Championships when he finished in the top 10 in the 200 Medley Relay (1:36.05) and the 100 Breast (58.35). Kurt also topped his first year with a 2:08.93 finish in the 200 Breast and just barely hit the two-minute mark in the 200 IM (2:00.80) in the Big West Championships at the end of the season.
