2009-10 (Freshman): Bart started his first season at Pacific with a 12th place finish in the 400 IM during the Pacific Invitational with a time of 4:25.91. He concluded the season on a high note, registering a ninth place finish in the 1000 Free (9:34.87) during the Big West Championships. During the conference championships he also set a personal best and team season time in the 1650 Free, with a 16:04.78 pace. High School: Bart graduated from Fairfield Prep in Fairfield, Conn., where he lettered four years in swimming. Platow holds the school records for the 500 Free, 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay, which he set in the 2009 season. In 2007, Bart helped Fairfield Prep win the state championship. As a junior and senior he earned All-State, All-Southern Connecticut Conference and All-America honors. Personal: Bart Platow was born in Bronx, N.Y., and is the son of Bill and Maura Marden. He has two older brothers, Danny who currently swims for the Tigers, and Dave, who swam for Pacific until graduating it the spring of 2009. In his spare time Bart enjoys watching sports. Bart is a business major in his second year at Pacific. |
