2007-08 (Freshman):

During his first season with the Tigers, Bobby proved to be a great addition to the team and he specialized in backstroke and IM events. One of his best performances of the year came at the Big West Championships from Feb. 20-23, when he finished sixth overall in the 200 Back with a time of 1:49.76. At the conference championship meet he also finished 12th among all Big West swimmers and set a season high mark in the 200 IM (1:55.80). As for the 100 Back, Smith's 52.68 time at the Nike Cup from Nov. 15-17 put his time as the third best overall for all Pacific swimmers in the event.

High School

Bobby graduated from St. John the Baptist High School, where he was a two year letter winner in swimming. In 2005-2006 season, Smith was awarded All-Catholic High School Athletic League Honors. Bobby also finished third place in the New York State 100 Back, and received All-State honors for his efforts. Smith set school records in the 100 Back, 50, 100, and 200 Free and the 200 IM.

Personal

Robert Smith is the son of Christopher and Christine Smith. He has one sibling, Ashley (15), and is a sports science major in his second year at Pacific.
