At Pacific In his first year with Pacific, 2003-04, Jake was tops on the team in the 100 Breast with a time of 58.80, which he swam at the Big West Championships. He also swam his best time in the 200 Breast (2:07.12) at the meet. High School Jake went to West Valley High School in Cottonwood, Calif., where he was a letterwinner all four years in swimming. Soares was honored with Most Valuable Swimmer honors for the Eagles three times (2001-03) and also was named the Most Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Year in 2002 for the California Interscholastic Federation Northern Section. He holds two of the four fastest times in the NSCIF, 100 Free and 200 IM. He was a scholar athlete at West Valley HS throughout high school. Personal Jake Soares was born on Nov. 7, 1985, in Redding Calif., and is the son of Marc and Patricia Soares. His dad is the swimming coach for West Valley High School. Soares is an exploratory major in his second year at Pacific. |
