Spring 2008 (Freshman):

After getting his first look at collegiate tennis, David came in and topped the entire Tiger roster in spring singles play when he finished the season with a 15-6 record, brining him to 19-11 overall -- the most wins of any Tiger throughout the entire year. Gonzalez established himself as the main player from the No. 2 position, winning nine matches from there for a 9-6 record. He also dominated his matches from the third and fourth positions, winning 4-0 and 2-0, respectively. In doubles play David paired with Artem Gramma (1-1), Austin Kakar (0-4), Moritz Starke (4-4), Pedro Toledo (1-1) and Vegerd Veskimagi. With a 4-3 record, Gonzalez and Veskimagi compiled the most wins from the second spot with three. For his dominating play, David earned Big West freshman of the year, first team singles and Pacific Competitor of the Month honors for the month of February.

Fall 2007 (Freshman):

In his first tournament season with the team, Gonzalez recorded a singles record of 4-5 and a combined doubles record of 5-4, while competing with three different doubles partners.

High School:

David graduated from Logos High School in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 2007. His career high in the ATP Singles Rankings is 966, and he was a finalist of the Orange Bowl Junior Tournament in doubles in 2004.

Personal:

David Gonzalez was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He is the son of Francisco and Marisabel Gonzalez and has two sisters, Denisse (24) and Domenica (11). In his second year at Pacific, Gonzalez is a mechanical engineering major.
