Gonzalez and Starke Advance Past First Two Rounds of ITA Doubles Tournament

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Pacific men's tennis team opened up doubles play at the ITA All-American Pre-Qualifying Tournament on Oct. 2, as David Gonzalez (Guayaquil, Ecuador) and Moritz Starke (Bamberg, Germany) advanced past the opening two rounds. As the only doubles team in the tournament for Pacific, Gonzalez and Stark opened up first round play with a close match against Joe Koebele and Omar Laalej of Drexel. Gonzalez and Starke won the match with by a final score 9-8 (6). In the second round the duo faced Jack Levis and Gary Sacks of USC. Gonzalez and Starke won that match 8-3. With the win they advanced to the third round of doubles play at the ITA event. They tournament will resume tomorrow morning. First Round: Gonzalez / Stark (PAC) def. Koebele / Laalej (Drexel) 9-8 (6) Second Round: Gonzalez / Stark (PAC) def. Levis / Sacks (USC) 8-3
