Junior Moritz Starke Named Big West Player of the Week

Irvine, Calif. - After winning twice in singles play and earning two more victories in doubles action over the course of the last week, the Big West conference has now named Pacific junior Moritz Starke (Bamberg, Germany) the Big West conference's Player of the Week for the week of April 7-13.

Starke earned both of his single victories last week at the No. 1 position as he recorded wins over San Francisco's Thong Tu 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 and over UC Irvine's Alex Sundling 6-4, 6-4. He also teamed up with Renan Delsin (Santa Cruz da Conceicao, Brazil) to earn wins at the No. 1 doubles position over San Francisco's Falko Huttenberger and Asaf Cohen 8-4 and over UC Irvine's Ajay Ahluwalia and Victor Lamm 8-3.

Starke and the Tigers will return to action on April 20, when they take on Fresno State in Fresno, Calif. at 1:00 p.m. The match will be the Tigers' last regular season match of the year before the Big West Championships which will start on April 25 and be played in Indian Wells, Calif.
