2004: In just three seasons, Mike has become a staple of the Tigers' defense, etching his name as the all-time leader in career digs with 718. Mike took over the top spot in the Tigers' final match of the season, a five game defeat of Stanford on April 17, in which he tallied nine digs. Gawlik's reliability has placed him into sixth all-time for games played in a career with 320. Mike will move into fifth all-time after playing in just two more games and he sits just 58 games back of the top spot all-time, 378 games. On the season, Gawlik produced 207 digs, while also posting a career-high of 84 assists. Off the court, Mike earned his second straight Academic All-MPSF selection.

2003: Gawlik saw action in all 118 games for the Tigers in 2003, posting a school record 299 digs. His 511 career digs ranks fifth in the Pacific record book. In addition, Mike finished the season with 39 assists, the second highest total on the team. After the season, Mike earned his first all-conference selection as he was named an All-MPSF honorable mention and was named to the Academic All-MPSF team.

2002: As a freshman, Mike led the team with 101 games played and collected 212 digs, a total that ranks third in the Pacific record book.

HIGH SCHOOL: Mike attended Naperville North High School in Naperville, Ill., where he lettered in volleyball all four years and was named to the All-State team twice. Gawlik also earned recognition as a three-time member of the All-Area and All-Dupage Valley Conference teams. In high school, he tallied 2,777 assists in his career , the second highest total in the state of Illinois. A two-time academic All-American, Gawlik concluded his career by being named Naperville Sun Volleyball Player of the Year in 2001.

PERSONAL: Born on October 14, 1982, Mike is the son of Mike and Myrtice Gawlik. In his fourth year at Pacific, he is majoring in sports medicine.
