2005 • Gonzalez filled the Tigers' libero spot during the 2005 season, accumulating the second most digs on the team at 152. He also had 85 kills on 238 attempts and assisted 16 times. Gonzalez also showed his versitility by adding 15 blocks. El Cerrito High School • Michael graduated in 2004 from El Cerrito High School in El Cerrito, Calif. A four-time Alameda Contra Costa Athletic League Most valuable Player, Michael led the Gauchos to a 40-0 record from 2001-04. He currently holds the school record for most kills and most digs in a single match with 54 and 35, respectively. During his senior season, Gonzalez averaged 23 kills/match. In addition to volleyball, Michael was a First Team All-ACCAL goalkeeper and forward on the men's soccer team. Personal • Michael is the son of Fred and Marilyn Gonzalez. He has two older brothers, Kenneth and David. In his second year at Pacific, Michael is majoring in graphic design. |
