
Pacific sweeps past Cal in exhibition match
Feb. 8, 2005 STOCKTON, Calif. - The No.9 Pacific men's volleyball team earned a three-set exhibition sweep against California on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Alex G. Spanos Center. Set scores for the match were :30-14, 30-23, 32-30. The Tigers dominated from the opening of the match, outhitting the Bears by nearly .800 points in the first set, .526 to -.259. The Bears came back in the third set, pushing the Tigers to 32 points in order to take the set. For the match, freshman Simon Chen-Byerley (Northfield, Ill.) led Pacific with nine kills on .500 hitting. The Bears were led by Kris Kuchenbecker who had a match-high 14 kills. The Tigers will continue MPSF play on Friday, February 11 as they travel to Stanford to take on the No. 10 Cardinal. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
