Tigers Drop Banana Slugs, 3-0

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's volleyball team dropped the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs in three straight games, Friday, February 10. The Tigers won the sets 30-25, 30-24 and 32-30.
The Tigers, having not lost a set to UC Santa Cruz since March of 2000 got off to a quick start in game one thanks to sophomore Pekka Seppanen and senior Brian Adamson. Pacific took the first game 30-25 and continued their dominance in game two, collecting the win 30-24. The Banana Slugs battled in game three but behind double-digit kills from Seppanen (13) and Adamson (11) the Tigers took the game 32-30.
Pacific finished the match with a .306 hitting percentage as redshirt freshman Joe Forbes hit .571 with five kills on seven attempts and five blocks.
With the non-conference win the Tigers record jumped to 4-8 overall and the Banana Slugs evened out at 5-5. Men's volleyball is back in action on the weekend of February 17 and 18 as they travel to Los Angeles to take on UCLA and UC Irvine.
