March 4, 2006
Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Pacific men's volleyball team gained a 2-1 set lead against the Mastadons but eventually fell to IPFW in five games. The loss gives the Tigers a 5-13 overall record on the year.
Behind huge games from senior Brian Adamson (18), Matt Cornell (17) and Pekka Seppanen (16) the Tigers jumped out to a quick lead, winning game one 30-26, falling in game two 30-24 but coming back strong in the third game, winning 30-24.
In the fourth set the Tigers tripped, falling 30-20 and were outlasted in the fifth set 15-8.
The Tigers had three played in double-figures defensively, with juniors Mitchel Hazelett, Garrett Morales and Cornell all getting double-digit digs. Cornell added a season-high seven blocks for Pacific.
Hazelett set up teammates to the tune of 60 assists on the night, helping the Tigers to a .533 hitting percentage in game one and a .201 attack percentage for the night.
The Tigers are back in California this weekend, with home games against Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara on March 10th and 11th.
