Pekka Seppanen Earns AVCA Second Team All-American Honors

Lexington, Kent. - Pacific junior outside hitter Pekka Seppanen (Kuopio, Finland) was named a second team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, as announced Wednesday, May 2nd.

Seppanen finished the year with 468 kills, 40 service aces and 211 digs, all of which led the Tigers for the 2007 campaign. In the MPSF ranks, Pekka finished ninth in kills (3.98 per game), sixth in aces (0.32 per game) and ninth in points (4.68 per game).

In Pacific's single season record book, Seppanen now holds the sixth most kills in a season, the fifth most digs, and the sixth most service aces in a single campaign.

On the career charts, Seppanen is seventh all-time in service aces (66), ninth all-time in digs (396), and is eight kills away from reaching Pacific's top ten in just two seasons of action.

Seppanen will attend the NCAA Final Four in Columbus, Ohio and will recieve his honor at the Awards banquet to be held in conjunction with the event.

The team was selected by a group of AVCA men's volleyball coaches which included Pacific head coach Joe Wortmann.
