Volunteer Assistant Coach Al Johnson Earns Gold Medal as Assistant Coach at Armed Forces Games

Stockton, Calif. - Women's and Men's Volleyball Volunteer Assistant Coach Al Johnson helped lead Air Force to the Women's Volleyball Gold Medal during the Armed Forces Championship this May.

Johnson helped lead Air Force to a 5-1 record in the four team tournament. The only loss for Air Force came in the second match of the tournament as the Falcons fell to Army (25-19, 25-14, 17-25, 25-14). Air Force rebounded to defeat Army days later (25-23, 26-24, 27-25) and did not lose another set until the championship match.

In the championship, Air Force defeated Navy 22-25, 25-15, 25-23, 19-25, 15-12.

The Falcons also captured the men's championship as well.

The Falcons will now move on to compete in the fourth annual Military World Games in Hyderabad, India. The Military World Games for women's volleyball will be held from October 12-22, 2007.
