2005 (Junior): Matt recorded 10 goals in the 2005 campaign for the Tigers, and added 19 steals and nine assists. He had his best game of the season against Cal Baptist on Oct. 30, scoring three goals, all of which came in the first period. 2004 (Sophomore): Matt played in 23 contests in his sophomore campaign, scoring nine goals during that span. He scored in three of the first four matches, and also recorded back to back games with goals on Oct. 3, against Navy and St. Francis. 2003 (Freshman): Matt was a key contributor off the bench when called upon in 2003. High School: Matt Mitchell went to Scripps Ranch High School, and gained varsity letters swimming and water polo. He holds school records in the 50 Free (23.27), 100 yd Free (52.30), and 200 IM (2:27). His senior year, he helped Scripps Ranch finish third in the CIF Western League. Personal: Matthew Mitchell was born in Cleveland, Ohio and is the son of Bill and Kathy Mitchell. Matt has a twin brother Michael, who is also on the water polo team, an older brother, Bill, and sister, Melissa, who were swimmers at Miami University and the University of Texas, respectively. Matt is majoring in pharmacy with future plans in medical administration. |
