
No. 8 Pacific Has 2-0 Day at Princeton Invitational

Princeton, New Jersey - The No. 8 Pacific men's water polo team went 2-0 on the day with victories over George Washington and No. 15 Princeton at the Princeton Invitational. The Tigers defeated George Washington 12-7, and held on to defeat Princeton 16-15. With the wins, the Tigers improve their record to 4-3 on the season. Against George Washington, Pacific outscored George Washington 4-1 in the first period of play, before the Colonials stormed back in the second period to take a 6-5 halftime lead. The Tigers came back after the break and controlled the second half, outscoring GW 6-2 to record the 12-7 victory. Junior Andy Skora (San Clemente, Calif.) proved to be unstoppable in the set for the Tigers, scoring a career high six goals to pace Pacific. Sophomore Will Milcovich (Walnut Creek, Calif.) had two goals for the Tigers while juniors Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) and Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia), along with senior co-captains Clint McLaughlin (El Cajon, Calif.) and Matt Turnbull (Act, Australia) each recorded a goal apiece. In the nightcap against Princeton, the two teams who share the Tiger as a mascot fought a close battle. Pacific was outscored by Princeton 9-8 in the first half, but turned it around in the second half, outscoring the tournament host 8-6. With a 16-15 lead with seconds remaining, sophomore goalie David Andrus (Houston, Texas) made a save to preserve the Pacific victory. Bakic led Pacific in scoring with four goals, while Kaurloto and Turnbull added three goals apiece in the win.
The Tigers will finish out the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, as they face Queens College and Iona.
