
Duje Kaurloto Named MPSF Mikasa Co-Player of the Week
Oct. 24, 2006 Woodland, Calif. - Pacific junior Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Mikasa Co-Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday, Oct. 24. This marks the first time that Kaurloto has earned the honor in his career. Kaurloto paced the Tigers to a 2-0 weekend by scoring six goals against Long Beach State and UC Irvine. Down 4-1 at UC Irvine in the third period, Kaurloto scored four straight goals to give the Tigers a 5-4 lead. He shared the honor with Jeff Tyrrell of Cal, who also scored six goals against the same competition. Kaurloto leads the MPSF in goals scored with 57, and ranks second in goals per game, averaging 2.48. Pacific, who is currently tied for third in the MPSF standings, hosts No.8 UC Santa Barbara and No. 13 Pepperdine in a pair of MPSF games this weekend. The Tigers face the Gauchos on Saturday and the Waves on Sunday, with both games set for a 12 noon opening sprint.
