
Pacific's Duje Kaurloto Named MPSF Tri-Newcomer of the Year
Nov. 28, 2006 Woodland, Calif. - Junior Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) was one of three student-athletes to share the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's 2006 Newcomer of the Year honor as announced on Tuesday, November 28th 2006 by Al Beaird, the Executive Director of the MPSF. Kaurloto, along with junior Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia) also earned Third Team All-MPSF honors. Kaurloto scored 74 goals in his first season at Pacific, while recording a goals per game average of 2.24, good for third in the MPSF. Bakic scored 69 goals, earning Third Team honors for the second straight campaign. His goals per game average of 2.09 ranked fourth in the MPSF and he led the Tigers in steals with 48. Kaurloto shared Newcomer of the Year honors with Spencer Warden of UCLA and Drac Wigo of Stanford. The full MPSF release can be accessed here.
