2003-04 (Junior): Darlene appeared in 26 of Pacific's 29 games last season. Gibbard showed signs of explosiveness as a junior, collecting a career-high eight rebounds against #2 Texas Tech in the Tigers' 100-39 loss on Dec. 8th. Gibbard posted her most productive scoring season as well, notching 39 points, including a season-high six points in three contests. Darlene finished the season averaging 1.5 ppg and 1.4 rpg. Gibbard also began to assert herself defensively last season as she swatted down 11 shots, including three blocks in the Tigers' 75-63 loss to Cal Poly on Jan. 22nd.

2002-03 (Sophomore): Gibbard saw action in 24 games during the 2002-03 season, including one start. She averaged 1.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in her freshman campaign. Gibbard had a breakout game in the Big West Tournament semi-finals as she recorded career-highs of eight points and six rebounds in Pacific's 71-51 win over Long Beach State on Mar. 14th. She scored four points (her first points as a Tiger) and pulled down two rebounds against Sacramento State on Dec. 11th as the Tigers defeated the Hornets 92-50. Darlene tallied three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in her first career start at No. 7 Purdue on Nov. 24th as the Tigers fell 91-57.

2001-02 (Freshman): Gibbard did not play the 2001-02 season due to injury.

2000-01 (Freshman): Gibbard used her redshirt option during the 2000-2001 season.

High School: Gibbard is a 2000 graduate of Taft Union High School in Taft, California. A four-year letterwinner in basketball, she earned All-League and All-Central Section honors as she helped lead Taft HS to a Central Section CIF Championship in her senior season. Darlene earned All-League first team accolades as a junior and was named the best sixth man as a freshman. Darlene posted a school and league record by blocking 110 shots as a junior to help lead her team to a 21-6 finish on the season. Gibbard also swatted down 78 blocks as a sophomore. In addition to her four years on the basketball team, Darlene found time to earn two letters on her high school swim team, competing in the 100 Meter freestyle, and was an honor student throughout her four years at Taft Union HS.

Personal: Darlene Gibbard was born Sept. 2, 1982, in Torrance, Calif. She is the daughter of Mike and Ginger Gibbard. Darlene is in her fourth year at Pacific and is majoring in English. Her hope is to become an English teacher and possibly a coach.
