2006-07 (FRESHMAN):
Playing in all 30 contests while starting four in her freshman campaign, Emma finished the season averaging 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Emma ranked second on the team in field goal percentage during her first season as she hit at a .457 clip (58-of-127) from the floor. Defensively, Head ranked second on the team with 19 blocks while also producing 13 steals for the Tigers down in the low post. Head became the first freshman of the 2006-07 season to be named the conference's Player of the Week as she earned the distinction on Dec. 18 for her play against Santa Clara and Sacramento State. Against the Broncos, Emma posted a then career-best 10 points in the post in just 16 minutes of action. At the line, she was a perfect 4-of-4 as she played her part in the Tigers' program record 16-of-16 free throw performance in the contest. Three nights later, Head nearly doubled her career performance as she posted a career-high 17 points in the Tigers' 62-55 win over the Hornets. In the game, Emma provided a consistent presence down low, hitting on 7-of-10 shots (70.0% shooting) while also grabbing five rebounds and blocking one shot defensively.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2006 graduate of Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, Calif., Emma was a three sport standout, excelling in volleyball, track and field and basketball. A three-time letter-winner for the Broncos' women's basketball team, Head proved to be Rancho Bernardo's leading offensive threat, leading the team in scoring as both a junior and senior as she averaged highs of 15 points and eight rebounds per game in 2005. As a sophomore, Head led the Broncos to a 9-1 Palomor League record and a trip to the CIF Playoffs. For her play, Head was named an all-league honorable mention in each of her three varsity seasons. As a senior, Emma received the Bronco Leadership award. In addition to her prowess on the court, Head was a league champion shot-putter for Rancho Bernardo's track and field team. Off the playing field, Emma was an honor roll student at Rancho Bernardo HS.
PERSONAL:
Born in Hamilton, Bermuda, Emma Head is the daughter of Lynne and Brian Head. She has one older sister, Lauren, who she played two seasons with in high school. In her second year at Pacific, Emma is an international relations major.
