2003-04 (Freshman): Menkens made an immediate impact on the Tigers as a freshman, appearing in all 29 of the Tigers' contests, including 24 starts. Jessie's ability to create her own shot and score for the outside gave Pacific an additional threat. Menkens career-high 25 points in the Tigers' 82-73 win over Cal State Northridge was the third highest point total of any Tiger last season. Jessie led Pacific in scoring in three contests in 2003-04 and reached double figures in points 11 times. Following the season, Jessie was named to the All-Big West Freshman team as she averaged 7.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, and 2.0 apg. Menkens is the leading scorer returning to Pacific in 2004-05. High School: Menkens graduated from Prairie High School in Vancouver, Washington, in 2003. As a member of the Falcons, Menkens led her team to undefeated records in Greater St. Helen's League (GSHL) action in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Jessie led the Falcons to the Washington State Championship as a senior, collecting the MVP award for the state tournament. Menkens finished the season averaging 12 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. She left Prairie HS as the all-time leader in career FT% at 78.7% as well as the leader in career three-pointers with 85. Following her final season, Menkens was named GSHL MVP and was an All-State First Team selection. Off the court, Jessie was a National Honor Society inductee and received the Prairie HS Outstanding Student Award. Personal: Jessica Menkens was born on November 8, 1984. She is the daughter of Harve and Julie Menkens. Jessie has one younger brother, Danny. In her second year at Pacific, Jessie is majoring in sport sciences and is interested in becoming a sports agent following college.
