2004-05 (Junior):

Carolina burst onto the Pacific scene in her first season with the Tigers, averaging 7.8 points and 7.1 rebounds to lead the Tigers on the boards. She appeared in all 27 games, including 26 starts last season as she hauled in 193 rebounds and scored 211 points. Carolina finished the season on a high note as she reached double figures in each of the Tigers' final two games. Carolina had a career-high 19 points and 13 rebounds in the Tigers' 77-75 loss to Utah State. Two days earlier, Ruiz completed her second career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in Pacific's 73-67 loss to Idaho. Carolina pulled down an amazing 17 rebounds in the Tigers' 65-55 loss to Cal Poly on Jan. 20. Ruiz finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and a career-high five steals in the Tigers' 74-52 loss to Idaho on Jan. 15. Ruiz recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in the Tigers' 68-60 loss to Long Beach State on Jan. 6. Ruiz came onto the scene in a big way for the Tigers in her first game as she led Pacific in points (16), rebounds (8), assists (3), steals (3) and blocks (2) in the Tigers 59-50 win over Northern Arizona on Nov. 19.

Junior College:

Carolina attended Butte College in Oroville, Calif. Originally from Paradise, Calif., Ruiz led the Road Runners to a combined 54-9 record over two seasons. In 2003-04, Carolina posted 18.3 ppg and finished with the best shooting percentage in the state at 59.2% (215-363 field goals). Ruiz also grabbed 9.8 rpg, 2.7 spg and 1.9 bpg. Following the season she was named the Road Runners team MVP and to the All-State First Team. During her first year with Butte, Ruiz averaged 16.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Carolina finished fourth in the state with a 59% shooting percentage that season and was named to the Golden Valley Conference All-Freshman Team as well as the All-State Second Team.

High School:

Ruiz graduated from Paradise High School in 2001. As a Bobcat, Carolina averaged a combined 18.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg. Ruiz was named to the All-EAL (Eastern Athletic League) following both her junior and senior seasons.

Personal:

Carolina Ruiz is the daughter of Ramon and Raquel Ruiz. She has five siblings Alejandrina (30), Gina (27), Rachel (26), Ramon (24), and Saul (22). In her second year at Pacific, Carolina is majoring in communications.
