2008-09 (Sophomore):
In just her first season at Pacific, Gretchen proved to be one of the top players and deadliest shooters in the Big West as the sophomore finished the 2008-09 season with 243 points, averaging 8.4 points per game. Additionally, her average increased in conference play as she posted a 9.4 points per game average. The Tigers' No. 3 scorer, Tiernan was a force from behind the three-point arc, sinking 59 of Pacific's 144 three-pointers. Her 59 three-pointers led the conference during the regular season and ranked her No. 2 in the Big West at the end of the year. Not only did she hit the most threes, but her 33.1 three-point shooting percentage led the team in that category. Tiernan's best single game effort came in the 63-58 victory against Cal State Northridge, when she knocked down a career-best seven three-pointers, for 21 points on the night. Her seven treys is the second-most a player has scored in Tiger history. For her play, Gretchen was named to the All-Big West Honorable Mention team.

American River College:
A sophomore transfer from American River College in Sacramento, Calif., Gretchen came to the Tigers after one year in the junior college ranks. A combo guard, Tiernan led the Beavers through out the Big 8 Conference, posting 19.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. For her play she was named to the California Junior College All-State Second Team.

High School:
Prior to American River College, Tiernan graduated from Roseville High School in 2006. As a senior, Tiernan averaged 15.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.4 steals per game. A year prior she posted 12.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game as a junior.

Personal:
Born in Carmichael, Calif., Gretchen Tiernan is the daughter of Kitty and Bill Tiernan. She has three siblings, Scott, Amanda and Willy. In her second year at Pacific, Gretchen is majoring in sports pedagogy.
