2007-08 (JUNIOR):
In her first season as a Tiger, Janae established herself as Pacific's primary offensive threat on the floor, leading the Tigers in both scoring and rebounding at 12.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, respectively. Her season totals placed her among the Big West's bests as she finished sixth in the conference in scoring and third in rebounding. For her play Janae earned Second Team All-Big West honors while also picking up a pair of player of the week awards throughout the year. Young earned the conference's weekly honor for the first time after leading Pacific to a pair of wins over Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine in mid February after posting a then career-best 19 points against the Titans and a double-double (17 points, 12 rebounds) against the Anteaters. She earned her second award a month later after she posted 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting to lead the Tigers to a rout of UC Riverside. For the year, Janae was the only Tiger to play in and start all 30 games on the season. With her extensive playing time, Young posted 23 double-digit scoring performances including a 26 point outburst against Cal Poly on February 23. She also added four double-doubles on the year for Pacific. Defensively, Young was just as effective, leading the Tigers in steals with 65, a total that placed her third in the conference standings.

DELTA COLLEGE:
Janae came to Pacific after a very successful one year stint at Delta Junior College just down the road from Pacific in Stockton, Calif. As a Mustang, Janae led Delta to a conference championship in 2006-07 as she averaged 11.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47% from the floor to lead the team as a sophomore. For her play, Janae was named to the All-Big 7 First Team after the 2006-07 season. Young played her first year at Northeastern Community College in Norfolk, Vir.

HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2005 graduate of Sheldon High School in Sacramento, Calif., Janae was a two-sport athlete, excelling in both basketball and track and field. On the court, Janae led her Huskies to the CIF playoffs in 2005 after averaging an impressive 20.0 points per game while grabbing 9.0 rebounds per contest. For her play, Young was named the team's Most Valuable Player and was named to the All-Delta League First Team as a senior.

PERSONAL:
Born in San Francisco, Calif., Janae Young is the daughter of Lisa and Victor Young. In her second year at Pacific, Janae is majoring in chemistry.
