Janae comes to Pacific after a very successful one year stint at Delta Junior College just down the road from Pacific in Stockton, Calif. As a Mustang, Janae led Delta to a conference championship in 2006-07 as she averaged 11.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47% from the floor to lead the team as a sophomore. For her play, Janae was named to the All-Big 7 First Team after the 2006-07 season. Young played her first year at Northeastern Community College in Norfolk, Vir.

HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2005 graduate of Sheldon High School in Sacramento, Calif., Janae was a two-sport athlete, excelling in both basketball and track and field. On the court, Janae led her Huskies to the CIF playoffs in 2005 after averaging an impressive 20.0 points per game while grabbing 9.0 rebounds per contest. For her play, Young was named the team's Most Valuable Player and was named to the All-Delta League First Team as a senior.

PERSONAL:
Born in San Francisco, Calif., Janae Young is the daughter of Lisa and Victor Young. In her first year at Pacific, Janae is majoring in chemistry.
