2007 (Sophomore):
Keyawa blossomed into one of the Tigers' most potent scoring weapons during her sophomore season. Kim finished the year second on the team with nine goals and recorded her first career assist. Keyawa's first goal of the season gave Pacific an early lead in their 3-1 win over Missouri State on Aug. 31. In three different contests, Keyawa delivered two goals for the Tigers. Down the stretch of the season, Keyawa helped the Tigers collect three victories in four contests with four goals, including two game winners. The streak began as Keyawa scored two goals in Pacific's 7-1 win over Appalachian State on Oct. 30. Kim torched the Mountaineers again three days later in the NorPac Tournament consolation bracket, leading Pacific to a 5-2 win on Nov. 3.
2006 (Freshman):
Kim started her college career by playing in 18 of the Tigers' 19 games in 2006, including her first start in Pacific's second game of the season as the Tigers upset No. 6 American, 4-3. Keyawa fired her first shot on goal against Ball State on Sept. 7 in the Tigers' 5-2 win.
High School:
Kim graduated from Chico Senior High School, where her team suffered only one loss over the course of her four year career. As a junior she scored 15 goals and recorded 12 assists and as a senior, she scored 20 goals and notched seven assists. Kim received all conference honors as a junior and as a senior, and in 2005 she was named the MVP of the CIF league tournament. In addition to being the captain of the field hockey team, she was also the captain of her basketball team and her softball team. Kim was named NSCIF 1st and 2nd team honors for basketball and still
holds the records for Chico High's assists and steals. She also
received All League for softball as a senior. Kim received the
Outstanding Senior Female Athlete plaque for Chico High. She was on the
Academic All CIF team her sophomore, junior and senior year for all
three varsity sports. She was also her school's ASB V. President her
senior year.
Personal:
Kimberly Keyawa is the daughter of David and Deanna Keyawa. She has one
sister, Lindsay (22). In her second year at Pacific, Kim is studying
communication and business administration.
