2003: During her freshman season, Leah saw action in 10 games for the Tigers, during which she fired off one shot from her defensive position. Coming off the bench, Shelton provided depth to the defensive squad. High School: Leah attended Valencia High School in Valencia, Calif., where she excelled at softball, football, and soccer in which she lettered in all four of her seasons. As a sophomore, Shelton tried out for the varsity football team and earned a spot on the squad as the Vikings' kicker. In her junior season with the soccer team, Leah was named the team's Defensive MVP and as a senior was distinguished as Offensive MVP. Leah was also named Rookie of the Year as a freshman. Club Team: Shelton captained the West Valley Samba which she led to the California State championship. Personal: Born in Burbank, Calif. on March 12, 1985 to Jennifer and Jim Shelton, she is the daughter of Jennifer Shelton and Jim and Sydney Shelton. Leah has one older sister, Lyndsey, and one younger sister, Lanette. She plans to graduate with a degree in business. |
