Jackson's Second Half Goal Pushes Pacific Past The Hornets

April 20, 2008

Sacramento, Calif. - Behind a late second half goal, the Pacific soccer team stayed perfect in spring play with a 1-0 shutout of Sacramento State on Sunday, April 20. The Tigers have won all four of their spring games this season, notching four shutouts while outscoring their opponents 10-0.

For the second time this spring, sophomore Lydia Jackson (El Cajon, Calif.) found the back of the net for the Tigers, this time notching the lone goal of the contest in the second half of play. Jackson's score was set up by freshman Kim Hargrave (La Palma, Calif.) who one touched a pass from junior Laura King (Livermore, Calif.) to Jackson.

With one goal, the Tigers defense did the rest, holding the Hornets with out a goal for all 90 minutes of play. With freshman Amanda McNab (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) in goal, Pacific posted its fourth shutout of the spring season.

The Tigers will play next Sunday, April 27 at Cal in Berkeley, Calif. in 7v7 action as they continue their spring schedule. The 7v7 tournament will take place throughout the day on Cal's campus.
