2008 (Junior):
Prior to earning Second Team pitcher honors for the second straight season, Engle led the Tigers in the circle with 15 wins on the season, good enough for fourth in the conference. The junior continued as the anchor of the Tigers' pitching staff, posting a team-best 162 strikeouts in 205 innings pitched, ranking third in the conference in strikeouts. She posted a 2.60 ERA for the entire season, eighth best in the Big West, while her .230 batting average against ranked third best among Big West hurlers. On the year, Engle started 34 contests with 22 complete games and six shutouts. She tossed three complete game shutouts against Santa Clara on Feb. 17, Louisville on Feb. 29 and Wisconsin on Mar. 18.

2007 (Sophomore):
In her second season of work in the circle for the Tigers, Engle excelled, finishing the year with a conference-best 21 wins, earning her Second Team All-Big West honors for the first time in her career. In 40 appearances and 214.1 innings pitched, Chelsea posted 146 strikeouts, third best in the Big West. She finished the season with a 2.94 ERA while allowing her opponents to hit just .229 at the plate ranking her No. 4 in the conference in batting average against. Against the Big West, Engle was even better, posting a 1.59 ERA and a .201 batting average against, both ranking as the third best marks in the conference. During the season, Chelsea earned her first career Big West Player of the Week award after leading the Tigers to a 3-0 series sweep of UC Santa Barbara. Against the Gauchos, Engle threw two complete games including an eight inning complete game, to lead the Tigers. In her second start of the weekend, Chelsea was practically untouchable, relinquishing just two hits while shutting out the Gauchos.

2006 (Freshman):
Thrown into the pitching mix immediately, Chelsea responded by making a team high 25 appearances with 11 starts in her first season of action. On the season, Engle finished with a 7-7 record with a 3.20 ERA. In addition, Engle posted two saves in relief, the fifth highest single season total in program history. With 89.2 innings pitched, Chelsea led the pitching staff with 79 strikeouts and a .247 batting average against. She picked up her first collegiate win in her first start of the season, defeating Santa Clara, 12-4, on Feb. 11. Her finest start of the year came in the season ending 3-2 loss to Cal Poly, on May 13 as she threw nine complete innings giving up just six hits and one earned run.

High School:
Engle is a 2005 graduate of Folsom High School in Folsom, Calif., where she was a four-time letterwinner in softball. A highly decorated pitcher out of Northern California, Chelsea finished her high school career as the Bulldogs' all-time leader in career strikeouts (1,098). Additionally, Engle completed her career with her best season as a senior recording single-season Bulldog records for wins with 22 and strikeouts with 366. For her play, Engle was named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Second Team in 2005 and was the recipient of the Sacramento River Cats Robert K. Puglia Award for the "Best of the Best". In each of her final three seasons, Engle led the Delta League in strikeouts and, in 2003 and 2005, led the league in ERA, leading her to be named the Delta League Player of the Year three consecutive times. In addition to league honors, Chelsea garnered recognition as a Sacramento Bee All-City First Team pitcher in each of her final three seasons.

Personal:
Chelsea Engle was born in Roseville, Calif. She is the daughter of Ron and Kelly Engle. Chelsea is a communication major in her fourth year at Pacific.
